Shopping Mall
Now a days we have such a short time in our hand that we do not want to waste them at all in searching our necessary commodities, like for cloths we have to go there, for food, for household articles somewhere else so if we can get all those things under one roof it makes our life more easier and smooth, shopping malls all over the world are doing exactly the same. Now what do we mean by a shopping mall? A shopping mall or simply mall is one or group of buildings forming a complex of shops representing merchandisers, not only this but shopping malls also have interconnecting walkways enabling visitors to easily walk from unit to unit, along with providing a parking area.
There are different types of malls in this world like, Regional mall is a shopping mall;that is designed in such a way in which it can serve a larger area (15 miles) than a conventional shopping mall. As such, it is typically larger with 400,000 sqft (37,000 m2) to 800,000 sqft (74,000 m2). A Super Regional mall is a shopping center which has over 800,000 sqft (74,000 m2) of gross leasable area, three or more anchors, mass merchant, more variety, fashion apparel, and which serves as the dominant shopping venue for the region in which it is located. Another kind of mall is Outlet mall, which is a type of shopping mall in which manufacturers sell their products directly to the public through their own stores. Other stores in the same outlet malls are operated by retailers selling returned goods and discontinued products, often at heavily reduced prices.
Apart from these shopping malls have some similarities too like more or less all malls have food courts; they also have department store and anchor store. Malls also have satellite buildings located either on the same tract of land or on one abutting it, on which will be located stand-alone stores. 19th-century Al-Hamidiyah Souq in Damascus, Syria, can be considered precursors to the present-day shopping mall but Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg, which opened in 1785, may be regarded as one of the first purposely-built mall-type shopping complexes.
